NDIS Core Support: Group & Centre-Based Activities

    About Group & Centre-Based Activities

These funds are for support services that you receive in a group setting. Generally, these are used for group activities specifically organised for people living with disabilities. These support funds are specifically for group recreational activities such as events organised in a centre. If the support services are delivered in a group setting, then the total price limit should be divided by the number of participants to determine the amount that each individual participant can claim.

Just like with individual community supports, there are different price limits for group activities if you need high-intensity supports or require 1:1 supports.

What are NDIS Group & Centre-Based Activities?

Group and centre-based activities are structured programs or sessions designed to engage and support individuals, often within a community or care setting. These activities are organized to promote social interaction, skill development, and a sense of belonging among participants.

Group-based activities typically involve bringing together a small or large group of individuals with common interests, goals, or needs. These activities can vary widely and may include workshops, classes, games, and recreational events. They offer an opportunity for people to connect, share experiences, and learn from one another.

What Does NDIS Group & Centre-Based Activities Include?

Centre-based activities are organized within a dedicated facility or centre. These activities can encompass a broad range of offerings, such as arts and crafts, music, cooking classes, and more. The centre provides a safe and accessible space for participants to come together, engage in various activities, and receive support from trained staff or facilitators.

Both group and centre-based activities play a crucial role in enhancing social inclusion, fostering personal development, and improving the overall well-being of individuals. They can be particularly beneficial for those with disabilities, or individuals seeking opportunities to connect with others and build new skills in a supportive and structured environment.
